Welcome to the Suicide Awareness Council of Wellington Dufferin
Thank you for connecting with us. Since 1998, the Suicide Awareness Council has been fostering suicide awareness and creating opportunities for dialogue about suicide and mental well-being through leadership, advocacy and education. The Council is all about relationships. Volunteers and representatives from a wide circle of community and professional organizations meet at the Council table. Through inclusivity and mutual respect, we are working toward building suicide safer communities while supporting those who have been touched by suicide. We hope that you will find this website informative, helpful and hopeful.
The Suicide Awareness Council Wellington Dufferin is a voice for suicide awareness and prevention across our region. We have a long history of helping individuals and organizations to connect to information about suicide and connecting them with community supports.
Become more suicide alert. Know what to do; know how to ask. Our community provides a three hour suicide alertness workshop called SafeTALK and a two day suicide intervention workshop called Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
The SACWD is a voluntary council and new members are always welcome. The Council believes that a well-informed and actively engaged community is the foundation for decreasing suicidal behaviour and its impact.
